What moves the price

Seven things that change what a website costs

Anywhere you get a quote in Wisconsin or Illinois, these are the levers. Here is how each one works with us.

1

Page count

The biggest factor everywhere. 1 page is Starter ($125), 2 to 5 is Core ($397), 6 is Core plus one $50 page, 7 to 10 is Core 10 ($497), and every page past 10 is $50. A catalog page that lists products, staff or events counts as one page.

2

New design or a move

A new look costs more than a move. Keeping your current design and moving it to our hosting is $297. A new design for an existing site is priced by page count, $397 or $497.

3

Selling online

Agencies often double the price for a store. Our Online Store add-on is $197 for a shop page plus a page per product, up to 25 products, with Buy buttons tied to your own Square, Stripe, PayPal or Shopify account. $5 per product after 25. Hosting stays $20.

4

Writing and photos

Copywriting is included on every plan; you answer 10 questions and we write the pages. Need photos taken? Photo add-on $99. Need a logo? Logo and brand kit $99.

5

Business email

Email at your own domain is an add-on on every plan: $99 setup (domain records, first mailbox, moving your old mail, setup on 2 devices) plus $10 a month per mailbox.

6

Who makes the edits

Hosting is $20 a month and you make your own edits in the visual editor. If you would rather send us the changes, the Care Plan is $39 a month for up to 30 minutes of edits done within 2 business days. Bigger work after launch is $75 an hour, estimated first.

7

Getting found and getting reviews

Google Business Profile setup $49. Review Booster (review link, QR card and a text template) $29. A 4-pack of 30 to 45-second promo videos for social and ads is $297 at the website-client rate, or $79 for one.

Also

How you pay

Paying upfront is the lowest total. Every plan also has a monthly option on a 12-month commitment with nothing down and the first payment at launch. Hosting is inside the monthly payment in year one, then $20 a month.

This is a starting estimate from our published rates, not a quote. Your quote comes after a free homepage mockup and a 15-minute call, and it will match these numbers unless you add something. Promo videos, the Review Booster, the photo session and the logo kit are taxable in Wisconsin (5.5% in Walworth County); the website, hosting, email and Care Plan are not.

Questions owners ask

Website cost questions from Wisconsin and Illinois business owners

How much does a website cost in Southeast Wisconsin?

Published 2026 price guides from Milwaukee and Madison web shops put a small business website anywhere from about $500 for a template site to $20,000 or more for a custom build, with most 5 to 10 page sites landing between $1,000 and $7,500. Denecke Media builds the same kind of site for a flat $125 (one page), $397 (up to 5 pages) or $497 (up to 10 pages), then $20 a month for hosting.

Why is Denecke Media so much cheaper than an agency?

We are a small Elkhorn, WI shop with no office, no sales team and no project managers. We build hand-coded sites on AWS, which costs us a few dollars a month per site, and we write the text ourselves from a 10-question form instead of billing for discovery meetings. Lower overhead, lower price. The build is the same: custom design, mobile layout, technical SEO setup, accessibility to WCAG 2.1 AA and a visual editor.

What does the $20 a month hosting cover?

AWS hosting, the SSL certificate, your domain renewal, the admin panel you use to edit text and photos, and uptime and security monitoring. Hosting starts at launch on a 12-month commitment, then goes month to month with 30 days' notice.

Do I own the website?

Yes. On every plan the site files are yours on final payment. The domain is registered in your name from day one.

Can I pay monthly instead of upfront?

Yes. Every plan has a monthly option on a 12-month commitment with nothing down and the first payment at launch: Starter $35, Core $59, Core 10 $69, Straight Port $49 a month. Hosting is inside that payment during year one. You own the site after the 12th payment, then hosting is $20 a month. Paying monthly always costs more than paying upfront.

I already have a website. What does it cost to move it or redo it?

Moving your current site to our hosting as is (same look, same content, old addresses redirected) is $297 for up to 10 pages. A new design for an existing site is priced by page count like any other build: $397 for up to 5 pages, $497 for up to 10.

Is there sales tax?

Website builds, hosting, email and the Care Plan are not taxable in Wisconsin. Promo videos, the Review Booster, the photo session and the logo kit are taxable add-ons (5.5% in Walworth County) and are invoiced as their own lines.

How long does it take?

Our target is 14 business days from the day we have your photos, logo and answers. A free homepage mockup comes first, before you pay anything.
